וַיִּרְגַּ֣ז הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ וַיַּ֛עַל עַל־עֲלִיַּ֥ת הַשַּׁ֖עַר וַיֵּ֑בְךְּ וְכֹ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר בְּלֶכְתּ֗וֹ בְּנִ֤י אַבְשָׁלוֹם֙ בְּנִ֣י בְנִ֣י אַבְשָׁל֔וֹם מִֽי־יִתֵּ֤ן מוּתִי֙ אֲנִ֣י תַחְתֶּ֔יךָ אַבְשָׁל֖וֹם בְּנִ֥י בְנִֽי׃
Alors le roi fut tout bouleversé, il monta dans le donjon de la porte et se mit à pleurer; et, tout en marchant, il disait: "Mon fils Absalon! Mon fils, mon fils Absalon! Que ne suis-je mort à ta place, Absalon, mon fils, ô mon fils!"
